Overview

CardVenture (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides an AI-personalized gift card delivery platform for Shopify merchants. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our services.

Information We Collect

From Merchants: Store domain, brand settings (name, logo, colors), delivery preferences, and Shopify access tokens required to manage gift card products.

From Gift Card Purchasers: Recipient name, email or phone number, custom greeting messages, and delivery preferences — all provided voluntarily during checkout.

From Gift Card Recipients: Interaction data (experience opened, completed, skipped), device information, and IP address for delivery confirmation.

AI-Generated Content: When using AI-powered experiences (e.g., AI Storybook), we process recipient names and occasion details to generate personalized content. This data is used solely for content generation and is not stored beyond the gift card lifecycle.

How We Use Information

  • To create and deliver interactive gift card experiences
  • To personalize AI-generated content for recipients
  • To send delivery notifications via email, SMS, or WhatsApp
  • To provide merchants with analytics on gift card engagement
  • To process support requests and communicate with merchants
  • To improve our services and develop new experiences

Data Sharing

We use Brevo (Sendinblue) for email and SMS delivery. Gift card recipient information is shared with Brevo solely for the purpose of delivering gift card notifications. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Data Retention & Deletion

Gift card data is retained for the lifetime of the merchant's subscription. When a merchant uninstalls CardVenture, we soft-delete personal information (names, emails, phone numbers, messages) within 48 hours while preserving anonymized financial records for accounting integrity.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Gift card codes are stored encrypted. Access tokens are managed by Shopify's secure authentication framework. Our infrastructure uses Cloudflare Workers and Fly.io with industry-standard security practices.
